They were ordered not to refer to the locals as such and so instead referred to them as 'Stills' 'cos they're still 'Bennies!!!

Laurie -StourbridgeRantBoyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13425410359312882937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2629301231907528990.post-39846475838566852692012-06-23T07:33:27.366+01:002012-06-23T07:33:27.366+01:00My boyfriend who was in the Falklands war says he ...My boyfriend who was in the Falklands war says he was introduced to the word and concept of blimbling when he joined the army in 1977 from having been accused of such by training NCOs at Sandhurst. The Brigade of Guards was the main provider of said NCOs. He is pleased to have passed this concept on to his children. A great conceptual word that conveys a leisurely approach to ambulation.Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14615308624141688662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2629301231907528990.post-24579154885171143902012-06-22T13:15:00.248+01:002012-06-22T13:15:00.248+01:00I was born in 1950 and Bimble was a word I was fam...I was born in 1950 and Bimble was a word I was familiar with as a child.
I do not see where the falklands connection comes in.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2629301231907528990.post-72474961099992674602012-06-22T11:43:39.215+01:002012-06-22T11:43:39.215+01:00I was born in 1958 and as a child my mum often acc...I was born in 1958 and as a child my mum often accused me of bimbling about aimlessly !Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2629301231907528990.post-29282895182117020342012-06-22T11:37:16.307+01:002012-06-22T11:37:16.307+01:00Well!
