That's an absolutely perfect iambic tetrameter, which is great. Pentameter is ten syllables with five stresses. Yours is eight syllables with four. You've certainly got the principle, though.

And they're variously available in fifteen languages and counting. Well, to be honest, the first three are pretty untranslatable. But the others have been done.
For my money, Mark, your delivery is just fine. Plain, straightforward, no histrionics or handwaving or silly mannerisms.
